A prostitute waits for a John at the South end of "Hotel Row" on the corner of West White Ave and North Parkway Drive in Fresno California, Friday night August 10th, 2012. With the economic downturn and many business in Fresno moving to newer developments in the North end of Fresno, some of the older hotels closer to downtown have become less viable and have fallen into disrepair and become hot spots for prostitution and other crimes. Part of the High Speed Rail Project will require a section of hotels known as Hotel Row to be torn down to make room for HWY 99 and the HSR. The hotels will be given assistance and funds to relocate their business in newly developed areas of Fresno.
